Ah, they old “they don’t make them like they used to” nostalgia hit me when I saw a kid on a blinking, flimsy looking ride-on toy the other day. The poor kid jerked to a stop when the cheap plastic tires hit a small stick and I started thinking about the glory days of wagons and red tricycles with real rubber wheels. I dug around and found some really neat retro-looking toys that feature high-quality construction. Check them out:
While Radio Flyer is best known for their iconic wagon, they make a variety of other riding toys with that classic look. This Little Red Roadster is a simple ride-on toy with a working steering wheel and horn suitable for children ages one and older.
This Silver Race Car Speedster by Schylling has a really cool vintage look. It’s designed to look like an old-fashioned race car, but Schylling also makes a classic firetruck and a hot rod. So cool! It looks like it came straight out of a museum!
And what would be a look at classic riding toys without a bike? Vintage bikes and modern bikes with old-school looks are definitely popular with adults, and now youngsters can cruise around on one too. This is another Radio Flyer product, and unlike many bikes with training wheels, this one is designed for kids ages two and older.
The products featured in this post — Little Red Roadster ($76.95), Silver Race Car Speeder ($73.99), Classic red 10″ Bicycle ($79.95) — are all available through Arsa Toys.
