Leading toy safety group World Against Toys Causing Harm (WATCH) released a list of the summer’s most dangerous toys today.

The list includes toys called The Aqua Bomb, Marshmallow Blaster and the Toypedo; none of which scream safety in their names. The toys featured on the list have not been recalled and probably will not be unless there is a specific defect in the product that causes injuries to multiple children. WATCH’s big problem seems to be that many of these toys have low recommended ages, can easily be used to fire projectiles that are not a part of the toy. The Boston Channel was the first to report on this list and has a nice story as well as a video if you’re interested.

WATCH urges parents to carefully examine toy packages and toys themselves for warning labels, which aren’t always located in obvious places. In addition to the toys on the list, WATCH warns against certain toy types popular in the summer, such as wheeled toys without safety gear, trampolines and unsecured soccer goals. A complete list of these hazards is available here (Note: this link goes to a PDF).

As they say, just one injury to a child from a toy is too many.
