I know this post is completely off-topic, but I felt it was important.

Last night, tornadoes ripped through the midwestern states, including my home state, Kansas. Central Kansas was hit hard. There have been two deaths reported and extensive damage to Kansas State University.

The real tragedy, however, occured at the Little Sioux Scout Camp in Iowa around 4:30 PM. Four boys, ages 13 and 14, were killed. Over 40 people were injured, four of them being airlifted out of the campsite. On top of the tornadoes, floods have been raging all over Iowa, forcing hundreds of people out of their homes. 54 of Iowa’s 99 counties have been declared disaster areas by state governor Chet Culver.

I want to extend my sympathies to the families affected by the storms, and my heart especially goes out to the families of the boys at Little Sioux.

Information about the extent of the damage is still coming out, but the Red Cross is already taking donations. Please visit their donation page and select “Disaster Relief Fund” to make a contribution.

Thanks, guys.
