Okay, so a friend of mine tipped me off to the fact that you can buy a gigantic Rubik’s cube table.

Obviously, I was thrilled and Googled it the minute she told me. Here it is:

It’s an acrylic coffee/end table made by Jellio, and it retails for $600. I was hoping that the tables were functional, but alas, they are not, so I won’t be writing my check until they come out with a design that works like the real thing, or at least LOOKS like it’s been scrambled a bit.

It got me wondering what else was out there, though, so I started on my own little Google image hunt to track down some of the coolest toy-inspired household items.

FredFlare’s “80’s Cube” Clock

I can’t afford the tables, but at $22, I can swing this alarm clock by FredFlare.com. Not only does it tell time, it will give you the date and temperature, as well, if you turn the top knob!

Fire Jacks by Lynn Kingelin

These ceramic jacks add a playful element to a gas fireplace and come in white matte, black matte, crazed creme glaze, or metallic gold finish. The website gives contact information for purchasing, but no price. This probably means I won’t be able to afford them anytime in the near future, but they sure are adorable!

Salt & Playtime Shakers by Perpetual Kid

These adorable wooden salt & pepper shakers are from PerpetualKid.com, which has some seriously awesome stuff at very reasonable prices. This set retails for $8.49. I totally want need these.

BrixPod iPod Case, by PodBrix

It’s an iPod case made out of genuine Legos! What more can you ask for in life? This case fits an iPod shuffle, but looks like a full-sized iPod. (Note: These were limited editions and are sold out, but you may be able to find them on eBay. They originally retailed for around $50.)

Puzzotto Ottoman by LumiSource

These are absolutely adorable. They come in two tone, like these, or solid red, black or blue. And yep, you can interlock them! Contact LumiSource to find out more.
