Check out this crazy cool toy called MindFlex that is about to hit the market. This might sound crazy, but the toy harnesses mind-eye coordination to power a fan and levitate a ball. It’s not quite telekinesis, but it’s pretty close.

The game uses a wireless headset to recognizes a player’s brainwave activity generated by concentration. This is then processed into into digital signals that are transmitted to the game and executed as commands. When the player relaxes, the ball gradually drops. In addition to this “mind-eye” coordination, the player uses hand-eye coordination to control the horizontal movement of the ball with a hand dial. Sounds like you need a lot of concentration to play, but it also sounds like fun!

Toy super-company Mattell is partnering with NeuroSky, a new company focusing on “consumer brain-computer interface technologies”, to create several games, including MindFlex. The game will be ready for purchase this fall at most major toy retailers with an estimated retail price of $79.99.
